What’s it about?

It’s the story of a boy named Madhav who falls in love with a girl named Riya like all bollywood movies. But the twist is that the boy does not know English at all and the girl is doing her English (Hons). Madhav asks Riya to be her girlfriend not the filmy one but a little different not romantic but different. To which she replies a half yes and agrees to be his half girlfriend. He was more than just a friend to her. She loved him but only became his half girlfriend. Their relationship was such that everyone around thought that they were in a relationship. The story starts from Delhi goes up to Bihar and is completed in New York.

Expectation

I read most of Chetan Bhagat novels and have liked them. Expected it to be like all his other books a sweet love story of young people from India. The book promotion made it more exciting for me to read the novel.

Cover and Design

The cover of the book is like all other Chetan Bhagat’s book, the cover tell half of the story and creates suspense. The book is not too fat, a total of 260 pages.
Characters
Madhav Jha, A poor guy from Bihar who wants to be successful, who wants to help his mother improve the condition of his district. I kind of don't like the charter as he was too sweet to just let her go didn’t try enough to stop her.

Riya Somani, belongs to a rich family from Delhi. She likes playing basketball and is in the same college as Madhav. She likes someone but doesn't want to admit it. Sending mixed vibes to poor Madhav, I didn't like that about her.

Positives

It’s a sweet love story, with a happily ever after.

Both the hero and the heroine happy in their life.

A story where everyone's dreams come true.

This book is a script for a movie.

The story is coming in a Bollywood movie as well.

There are a few twists in the end where the story picks up.

Negatives

I personally didn’t like the lie Riya told Mahdav.

The Village part is too elongated, Could have shortened it a little.

The ending is predictable and a filmy story.

It's a one time read.

                                          Overall rating

6 out of 10. I would recommend to read the novel.
